Krasnoyarsk residents were obliged to chip their pets

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, residents will have to chip their pets. From March 1, 2026, those who fail to do so will be fined.

Deputy of the regional Legislative Assembly Vitaly Drozdov spoke about the new initiative in an interview on the Yenisei TV channel. The veterinary service is responsible for registering the animals.

The chip will help to quickly find the owner of the animal, explains KrasnoyarskMedia news agency. The agency reminds that from March 1 next year, additional requirements for the maintenance of pets will begin to apply.

So, it will be possible to walk dogs in public places only on a leash. It will be forbidden to keep pets on balconies and in vehicles. Dogs will not be allowed to walk on their own or be brought into rooms where there is information at the entrance about restrictions on their visits with pets.
