A resident of the Eastern Administrative District will be tried for illegally cutting down oaks on the territory of the reserve. The environmental damage from his actions was estimated at 1.2 million rubles. A criminal case has been opened against the man.
IA EAOmedia, referring to the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs, writes that a 51—year-old resident of the village of Dvurechye in the Irradiation district is in the dock. The case materials with the indictment approved by the prosecutor's office have been sent to the court for consideration on the merits.
The investigation found that the man, while on the territory of the Churki reserve, cut down two trees of the "Mongolian oak" breed with a chainsaw. In relation to the accused, a preventive measure was chosen in the form of a written undertaking not to leave.
Earlier it was reported that two foresters of the KGB "Sayano-Shushenskoe forestry" will stand trial for accepting bribes and illegal logging. According to investigators, in the summer of 2023, for 600 thousand rubles, they helped the loggers to "adjust" the site to their needs by drawing up fictitious acts of inspection of logging areas with distorted data on the number and quality of trees. As a result, the logging was registered on a plot with 300 cubic meters of valuable pine. The damage to the state forest fund amounted to 7.8 million rubles.
