Urazov appointed Director for International Cooperation and Special Projects at NMG

The National Media Group (NMG) announces the appointment of Alexey Urazov to the position of Director for International Cooperation and Special Projects.

The personnel decision is aimed at strengthening NMG's position in the global media market, strengthening partnerships and forming global alliances, and finding and implementing new business development directions through the formation of international partnerships. Urazov's field of activity will also include cooperation with relevant government and industrial structures in this area.

"We are increasing our focus on developing international cooperation. Today, NMG's content is already sold in almost 50 countries around the world, and information interaction with leading media companies and news agencies is actively developing. At the same time, we are not only purposefully developing cooperation with current international partners, but also entering new markets for us and practicing new formats in cooperation in the production of content, as well as in the field of news. This appointment is intended to strengthen and expand NMG's position in foreign markets," said Svetlana Balanova, CEO of the National Media Group.

Alexey Urazov has 15 years of experience in the field of external communications and media, including a number of successfully implemented communication support projects for M&A transactions, business restructuring, development and implementation of public positioning strategies for new businesses, as well as anti-crisis communications projects in government and corporate spheres.

Until recently, Urazov worked in the office of Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Investment and Economic Cooperation with Foreign Countries, and served as Director of External Communications at the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF).

Urazov previously worked for the news service of the Russian federal TV channel Rossiya-1 (VGTRK). In 2011-2017, he held senior positions in the field of communications in various structures – Mikhailov and Partners communications Agency, Rosneft Oil Company, Rostec Group of Companies. In 2017-2019, he served as Deputy General Director of NMG for Strategic Communications and Public Relations.

In 2007, he graduated with honors from the Faculty of History of Lomonosov Moscow State University, holds a PhD in Historical Sciences. He is the author of a number of monographs on the problems of international relations. He is a member of the Russian Historical Society.
