- Calls and messages in MAX have become available in the CIS countries
Residents of nine countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) have the opportunity to exchange messages and make calls through the Russian messenger MAX. This was announced on November 5 by the messenger's press service.
The service has become available to users from Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
"In order to communicate with users from the CIS countries, it is necessary that the numbers of the interlocutors be added to the contact lists. If users are not in each other's contact lists, then one of the interlocutors can send an invitation link," the message says.
As the developers explained, this requirement was introduced to maintain a secure communication format and counteract fraudulent schemes.
The registration process in the messenger includes downloading the application, selecting a country, entering a phone number and confirming via SMS code. Additional account protection is provided by two-factor authentication, which can be activated in the privacy settings.
It is noted that the expansion of the service geography will allow millions of users to keep in touch with relatives and partners in the CIS countries, while maintaining a high level of personal data security.
On September 18, two-factor authentication became available to users at MAX. To use it, go to the "privacy" section of your profile and add a password as the second way to protect your device. Also on August 29, MAX launched a new feature in the form of instant recording and sending video messages in a circle format. The maximum recording time for a mug is 60 seconds.
All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
