Indian energy company ONGC will continue to buy Russian oil through traders who have not been affected by international sanctions. This was announced on November 5 by ONGC Chairman and CEO Arun Kumar Singh on the sidelines of the ADIPEC conference in Abu Dhabi.

"We will comply with absolutely all sanctions. However, in compliance with the sanctions, we will do everything that is allowed to do," he said, answering a question from TASS about the continuation of supplies through traders who are not subject to sanctions.

On October 22, the US Treasury Department announced that the United States was imposing sanctions against Russian oil companies Rosneft and Lukoil. It was clarified that these companies are included in the sanctions list for activities in the energy sector of the Russian Federation.

On October 28, Bloomberg wrote that state-owned oil refineries India is looking for an opportunity to continue buying some of the Russian oil at a discount, relying on small suppliers instead of energy giants from the US blacklist, RT reports.

On October 30, Bloomberg reported that in preparation for limiting oil supplies from Russia, India's largest state-owned oil refiner Indian Oil began searching for leaking barrels in North and South America. The company is waiting until Friday, October 31, for offers from suppliers from the USA, Canada, Brazil and several other countries in the region.
