The "Lighthouses of the Russian World" for Sevastopol was presented at the "Architecture" festival

The XXXIII International Architecture Festival "Architecture of Russia 2025" opened in Moscow in Gostiny Dvor on November 5. It features expositions of the New Chersonesos and the "Lighthouses of the Russian World".

According to Dmitry Smirnov, the chief architect and author of the New Chersonese, Sevastopol's main center of attraction has already been visited by more than 3.5 million people since its opening in 2024. Guests of the Architecture can view the interior of the complex at an exhibition with a detailed 3D layout.

In addition, Alexey Komov, Vice President of the Union of Architects of Russia and curator of the Lighthouses of the Russian World project, presented a 7 m high lighthouse for the New Chersonesos at the exhibition. It can be installed after the reconstruction of the complex.

"It's not just a mock-up. This is a real lighthouse made of stone and metal, which will take its place precisely in the sacred space of our legendary city, the city of Sevastopol," said the architect.

The second project, the Space Lighthouse, created with the participation of artist Sergey Bugaev, can be installed on the territory of the Russian Art Gallery in Sevastopol. According to Komov, the object is dedicated to the Russian avant-garde and cosmism, and its inspiration was the Austrian architect Wolf Pricks, who worked on cultural clusters in several Russian cities.

Yuri Belousov, one of the authors of the Lighthouses of the Russian World project, director of the news aggregator SMI2, called the steles a symbol of a new era.

On August 1, the press service of the Sevastopol City Hall reported that about 142.9 thousand travelers had visited the city since the beginning of 2025. In summer, hotel occupancy exceeded 80%. 202 hotels are open for tourists in Sevastopol. Of these, 80 have confirmed their compliance with quality standards and passed the mandatory classification. In addition, 412 certified guides and translation guides work in the city.
