A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. Units of the North group of forces defeated formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in a number of areas of settlements in the Sumy region, and AFU brigades in the Volchansk area were hit in the Kharkiv direction. The enemy's losses amounted to 285 soldiers, two armored combat vehicles, nine vehicles and five field artillery guns. An electronic reconnaissance station, an ammunition depot and five material depots were destroyed.

The Zapad group of troops improved its tactical situation and continued to destroy the encircled units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kupyansk, Kharkiv region, during which four counterattacks by Ukrainian militants were thwarted. In total, in the area of responsibility of the Zapad group of forces, the losses of the Ukrainian armed forces amounted to over 230 people, 11 armored combat vehicles, 22 vehicles and two field artillery guns. Six electronic warfare stations, a counter-battery warfare station and six ammunition depots were destroyed.

The southern group of troops occupied more advantageous positions and defeated the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a number of settlements of the DPR. The enemy lost up to 160 militants, three armored combat vehicles, 23 vehicles and three field artillery pieces. Three electronic warfare stations and two ammunition depots were destroyed.

The military personnel of the Center group of forces improved their position along the front line and continued to destroy the encircled units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Krasnoarmeysk in the DPR. The Russian Armed Forces are also clearing the settlements of Gnatovka and Rog in the Donetsk People's Republic from Ukrainian militants, 24 buildings have been liberated. During the day, 12 counterattacks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces aimed at unblocking the encircled militants were repelled. In total, in the area of responsibility of the Center group of forces, enemy losses amounted to up to 470 military personnel, six armored combat vehicles, nine vehicles and an artillery piece.

The units of the Vostok group of forces have advanced into the depth of the enemy's defenses. Formations of two mechanized brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the air defense brigade were defeated in the areas of settlements of the Zaporizhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions. The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost over 250 people, two armored combat vehicles, 19 vehicles and an artillery piece.

The Dnepr group of troops defeated the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a number of settlements in the Kherson region. The enemy's losses amounted to 65 militants, an armored combat vehicle, 12 vehicles, two field artillery guns, five electronic warfare stations and two material depots.

Operational-tactical aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile forces and artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation defeated energy and transport infrastructure facilities that support the activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, an assembly shop for unmanned aerial vehicles, ammunition depots, as well as temporary locations of Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries in 142 areas.

Air defense systems shot down a guided aerial bomb, four US-made HIMARS multiple rocket launchers and 123 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles.

Strikes are carried out on concentrations of infantry, deployment sites and warehouses.

According to the Ministry of Defense, since the beginning of the special military operation, 668 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 95059 unmanned aerial vehicles, 635 anti-aircraft missile systems, 25,862 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,609 multiple rocket launchers, 31099 field artillery guns and mortars, 45925 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
