During a working visit to China, the delegation of the ROSSETI Group, led by CEO Andrey Ryumin, got acquainted with the experience of building high-capacity energy storage devices and visited enterprises specializing in the production of equipment for such systems.

According to the company's press service, the delegation visited the site where turnkey storage containers are assembled and visited an operating 160 MW facility of one of the largest lithium and storage manufacturers in the country. The group also inspected the test center and the factory of a leading Chinese manufacturer of converters for SNES, equipment for high-voltage direct current transmission, and flexible AC transmission systems. Meetings were held with Chinese partners to discuss the implementation of SNE implementation projects.

"The use of energy storage systems is one of the key areas of development of the modern electric power industry. The introduction of such systems makes it possible to effectively address issues related to power shortages in the face of rising electricity consumption. Today, China is a world leader in energy storage. The exchange of experience with colleagues is important for the successful implementation of projects planned in Russia," Ryumin said.

Currently, the implementation of high-power SNES in the backbone networks is being worked out to ensure reliable power supply to consumers during the passage of maximum loads. ROSSETI has been appointed by the Russian Government to be responsible for the construction of such systems in southern Russia. It is planned that pilot projects will be implemented in the Krasnodar Territory and in the Crimea.
