NYT reported on plans to introduce fixed-term contracts in the Armed Forces of Ukraine due to a shortage of soldiers

Ukraine plans to introduce a system of fixed-term military contracts in parallel with the current draft. This was reported on November 5 by The New York Times.

According to the newspaper, the existing system of indefinite contracts caused serious concerns among the population, since it actually meant indefinite deployment to the front line. The new model assumes the conclusion of contracts of limited duration — from one to five years.
