It is necessary to reduce the burden on doctors due to inspections by private medical companies. This was announced to Izvestia on November 5 by Leonid Roshal, co-chairman of the Central Headquarters of the Popular Front, President of the National Medical Chamber.

"The freed-up time that doctors are currently spending on discussions with private insurance companies will certainly benefit patients, significantly improving the quality and accessibility of medical care," he said.

According to Roshal, such a system of medical care is being successfully implemented in new regions and federal clinics. He is convinced that insurance companies represent a "redundant link" in the healthcare financing system, while creating "bureaucratic barriers."

"Insurance organizations are commercial structures whose main goal is to make a profit, while the task of the state is to ensure the constitutional rights of citizens to health protection. These goals contradict each other, and transferring the functions of quality control of medical care to state institutions will make it possible to more effectively implement the constitutional rights of citizens," Roshal added.

Earlier, on October 21, Yaroslav Nilov, head of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, sent a letter to Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko asking him to consider imposing unnecessary paid services on patients in private medical institutions. Nilov noted that doctors at private clinics, in an effort to meet performance indicators (KPIs) and save income, are forced to offer patients additional procedures, even if they do not need them. This approach, according to Nilov, negatively affects the quality of medical care.
