Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a meeting with Deputy head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) Vitaly Korolev, invited him to head the Tver region. This was announced on November 5 by the Kremlin's press service.

"I would like to suggest that you try your hand at the regional field and lead the Tver Region," Putin said.
