The second high-class flare in a day occurred in the Sun
The Sun experienced its second high-X flare in 24 hours. This was announced on November 5 in the press service of the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy of the IKI RAS.
"The interval between the maximum of the first and second events was approximately 4.5 hours. The maximum radiation was registered at 01:01 Moscow time," the laboratory's Telegram channel wrote.
Scientists have noted that the very fact of the formation of two Class X flares by the Sun in a row is quite rare. Over the past 25 years, just over 240 such events have been recorded on the Sun, which means that on average they occur at a rate of less than once a month, the laboratory explained.
Earlier, on November 4, the website of the Institute of Applied Geophysics (IPG) reported that an outbreak of class M3.5 occurred on the Sun. According to the institute, the outbreak occurred at 04:48 Moscow time and lasted about 25 minutes.
