The State Duma recalled the fines for incorrectly installed winter tires
Drivers face a fine if the tread depth of winter tires is less than 4 mm, or if different types of tires (summer and winter) are installed on the same axle. This was announced on November 5 by Pavel Fedyaev, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Transport and Transport Infrastructure Development.
"Do not forget about the technical condition of the tires. The inspector has the right to fine you if the tread depth of winter tires is less than 4 mm, or different types of tires are installed on one axle, for example, winter and summer," he said in an interview with TASS.
It is clarified that, according to Article 12.5 of the Administrative Code ("Driving in the presence of malfunctions"), a fine of 500 rubles is provided for non-compliance with these rules.
On November 1, Fedyaev reminded drivers of the need to update their driver's licenses before traveling abroad. It was clarified that the rights are valid for three years after their expiration date. However, such an automatic renewal is valid only on the territory of the Russian Federation.
