Trump announced the return of Isaacman's candidacy for the post of head of NASA
The candidacy of businessman, pilot and billionaire astronaut Jared Isaacman has been returned to consideration for the position of head of the American National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). This was announced on November 4 by US President Donald Trump.
"I am pleased to present the candidacy of Jared Isaacman, an experienced business leader, philanthropist, pilot and astronaut, for the post of NASA administrator," he wrote on his page on the Truth Social network.
The head of the White House added that Isaakman's passion for space, his desire to expand relevant research, as well as strengthen the space economy, make him an "ideal candidate" for this position.
In his post, Trump also addressed the businessman's relatives, his wife Monica and two daughters Mila and Liv, whom he congratulated on this news.
The Financial Times (FT) newspaper on June 6 commented on the sudden dismissal of Isaakman's candidacy. The publication called this event the beginning of the "purge" expected in the United States after the conflict between the American leader and entrepreneur Elon Musk, who was a friend of the candidate who had dropped out of the competition for the post of director of NASA at that time.
Some time later, on July 9, Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy was appointed interim head of NASA. Trump argued for this appointment by saying that this figure would be "a fantastic leader, even for a short period of time."
