The Financial Times (FT) newspaper on June 6 commented on the sudden dismissal of Isaakman's candidacy. Some time later, on July 9, Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy was appointed interim head of NASA. Trump argued for this appointment by saying that this figure would be "a fantastic leader, even for a short period of time."
