The Ministry of Internal Affairs listed the habits that help against fraudsters
On November 4, the Department for the Organization of the fight against the illegal use of information and communication technologies (UBK) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs listed three habits that help against fraudsters.
"It is important not to strive for an ideal "zero trust", but to build a minimal but stable level of protection that can really withstand the daily rhythm," the department wrote on its Telegram channel.
The Interior Ministry noted that three habits should be followed: do not act immediately, choose the only way to take critical action, and pay attention to a request to provide personal data.
"Urgency, emotions, the risk of missing out, personal data. If there are at least two in the message, this is most likely phishing or social engineering," the message said.
The agency added that attention is the "last line of defense" between a person and fraudsters.
Earlier, on November 2, the Interior Ministry warned that fraudsters were luring Russians' personal data under the guise of a call from an "accountant" who allegedly informed them about the payment. It was clarified that the attackers named the time of recording, the cabinet number and explained that it was impossible to resolve the issue remotely, and at the end of the conversation they asked to dictate passport data, ostensibly to issue a temporary pass.
