Poland plans to start creating a national anti-drone system within a few months, without waiting for the European Union's initiative to create a "drone wall." This was announced on November 4 by the deputy head of the Polish Defense Ministry, Cesary Tomczyk, in an interview with Bloomberg.

According to him, in November 2025, the country's Ministry of Defense will announce investments in technologies for detecting, jamming and neutralizing enemy drones as part of a broader air defense development program. However, he did not specify the volume of investments.

Tomczyk said Warsaw plans to use the EU's new SAFE defense loan program to finance the country's drone shield, but declined to provide details.

European Commissioner for Defense Andrius Kubilius said on October 24 that the European Union does not have effective weapons to destroy unmanned aerial vehicles, and therefore needs to create a "drone wall." In addition, he proposed the introduction of modern radars that will be able to detect the drone.

The Politico newspaper reported on October 3 that at the summit of the European Political Community in Copenhagen, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz sharply criticized the financing of the drone wall project from EU funds. Kubilius, in turn, supported the initiative, noting that the project was estimated at €1 billion and its creation could be completed in less than a year.
