More than 150,000 people have been evacuated in the Philippines due to typhoon Kalmaegi, with authorities warning of torrential rains, winds and waves up to three meters high. This was reported on November 3 by the Associated Press (AP), citing sources.

"Typhoon Kalmaegi is expected to hit the coast on Monday evening or Tuesday morning. He was last seen about 95 km southeast of the city of Guiuan in the province of East Samar. The wind speed reached 140 km/h, and gusts reached 170 km/h," the publication says.

According to the Civil Defense Department, residents of the rickety tents will be relocated to more durable shelters.

In addition, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, villagers on the central island of Negros have been warned that heavy rains could cause volcanic mudslides on the Kanlaon volcano, which has been spewing clouds of ash and steam in recent months.

The Daily Mail reported on October 10 that mega-storm Alice had hit the Costa Blanca in Spain, and several flights had been canceled. A graph provided by a flight tracking website showed several planes circling around Alicante Airport due to traffic disruptions.
