Six people have died in the United States due to an outbreak of listeriosis.
Six people died, and another 25 were hospitalized as a result of an outbreak of listeriosis recorded in the United States (an infectious disease transmitted through food, contact with infected animals and humans, as well as airborne droplets), caused according to preliminary data by ready—to-eat pasta products. This was reported on November 3 by NBC News, citing a report from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
"Six people have died and 25 people have been hospitalized due to a listeria outbreak linked to now-recalled pre-cooked pasta dishes. <...> Of the 27 people who have fallen ill as a result of this outbreak, 25 have been hospitalized as of Thursday (October 30. — Ed.)," the article says.
It is noted that cases of this disease have been identified in 18 states, including California, Florida, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, and others.
