Russian cosmonauts of Roscosmos Alexey Zubritsky, Sergey Ryzhikov and Oleg Platonov from aboard the International Space Station (ISS) congratulated their compatriots on National Unity Day.

"Dear compatriots! Friends! We, Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergey Ryzhikov, Alexey Zubritsky and Oleg Platonov, wholeheartedly congratulate you on National Unity Day from aboard the International Space Station," said Cosmonaut Ryzhikov.

He stressed that National Unity Day is a holiday for those who sincerely love Russia, appreciate its history and work for its benefit, as well as are ready to defend their country.

Cosmonaut Zubritsky recalled that the holiday has a special significance today. Four centuries ago, united in the face of an external threat, our ancestors, led by Minin and Pozharsky, defended the independence of Russia, restoring and strengthening the state. Their feat became an example of perseverance, courage and unity.

Cosmonaut Platonov concluded that this day symbolizes the main values uniting all the peoples of Russia.: love for the Motherland, respect for the past and the desire to be worthy citizens. He noted that only through joint efforts Russia will be able to overcome difficulties and achieve prosperity. In conclusion, he wished peace, prosperity and health.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered a ceremony to be held in the Kremlin on November 4 to present prizes for their contribution to strengthening the unity of the Russian nation and state awards. It was clarified that the preparation of the event was entrusted to the presidential Administration and the Federal Security Service.
