In the very center of Rome, at the Imperial Forums, the central squares of the ancient city, a partial collapse of the historic Torre dei Conti tower occurred. As the Corriere della Sera newspaper reported on November 3, the architectural monument was under reconstruction.

Currently, a search is underway for people trapped under the rubble in Largo Corrado Ricci Square. Rescuers found that a worker of Romanian origin was trapped under the rocks, and a man was injured. The collapse occurred around 11:20 (13:20 Moscow time).

"According to preliminary data, one worker was injured, and four others, who were initially trapped in the upper part, were rescued," the newspaper notes.

Firefighters from the SAF group are also working at the scene, trying to reach the trapped man through a small window on the left side of the tower. Traffic in the historical area, which has always been limited, was completely blocked after the emergency. Pedestrians are also prohibited. It is known that the architectural monument was under reconstruction.

On October 29, a six-storey building collapsed in the Gibze district of Kocaeli, Turkey. It was noted that the cause of the incident is unknown. Police officers, firefighters and medical teams were sent to the scene. On November 1, Turkish Minister of Urban Development Murat Kurum announced that residents of 16 residential buildings in the emergency area had been evacuated in Gibze after the collapse.
