Actor Engin Caglar was killed in an accident in Turkey.
Turkish actor Engin Caglar, known for the classic films of the era of "Yesilcham", died at the age of 85 as a result of a traffic accident in Istanbul. This was reported on November 1 by local media outlet NTV.
According to the newspaper, the tragedy occurred in the Shishli area: the artist was crossing the road when he was hit by a motorcycle. Chaglar was taken to the hospital in an unconscious state, however, despite the efforts of doctors, it was not possible to save him.
The Film-San Foundation announced the actor's death and expressed its condolences to his family.
"We wish God's mercy to Engin Caglar, one of the founders of the Film-San Foundation and a valuable actor of Turkish cinema," the organization said in a statement.
Engin Caglar became one of the key figures in the history of Turkish cinema, playing the main roles in the popular films "Not a woman, but a troublemaker", "Feride", "Kınalı Yapıncak", "Makber" and other films that became a symbol of the "golden era" of Yeshilcam.
