The opinions of US citizens about the mass deportation of illegal migrants carried out by the administration of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, are almost equally divided. This was announced on November 2 by the CBS television channel and the YouGov research company based on the results of a joint survey.

According to the results of the study, 52% of Americans support deportation, while 48% are against it. Among supporters of the Republican Party, 92% of respondents approve of Trump's measures, only 15% among Democrats, and 47% among independents.

More than half of the survey participants (53%) believe that immigration officers act too harshly during detentions, and 58% opposed allowing them to hide their faces under masks. According to CBS, 52% of respondents believe that the Trump administration is focused on deporting those who do not pose a threat to public safety.

Earlier, on October 27, Donald Trump said that his support rating was at an all-time high and accused his opponents of publishing "fake polls." He stressed that the American economy is strengthening, and his policies ensure the "security and prosperity" of the country.
