The head of the Belgian Defense Ministry announced the appearance of drones over the Kleine-Brogel military airbase.

Last night, three large-scale drones carrying out a "clear surveillance mission" were detected over the Kleine-Brogel military airbase. This was announced on November 2 by Belgian Defense Minister Theo Franken.

According to him, the drones were moving at high altitude, and the means of electronic warfare (EW) used turned out to be "ineffective."

"Police helicopters and cars chased the drones, but lost them after several kilometers to the north. The investigation is ongoing," Franken wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

The Minister added that materials had been prepared for consideration of this incident at the Council of Ministers and noted the need to allocate additional resources to counter drones.

According to the publication, this is happening against the background of the company's plans to double the production of unguided laser-guided missiles FZ275 to 70 thousand units in the next few years.
