The Russian government has approved new rules for calculating car recycling

The Government of the Russian Federation has approved new rules for calculating the recycling fee for passenger cars. The new rules will come into force on December 1 of this year. The relevant resolution was published on November 1 on the official portal of legal acts.

"To approve the attached amendments to the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated December 26, 2013 No. 1291 "On recycling collection in respect of wheeled vehicles (chassis) and trailers to them <...> This resolution comes into force on December 1, 2025," the document says.

According to the approved changes, the base recycling rate will depend on the type and volume of the car's engine, and engine power will affect the calculation of the coefficient on a progressive scale. At the same time, preferential coefficients will remain for Russians who import cars with an engine capacity of up to 160 horsepower for personal use.
