Russia sent 30 tons of humanitarian aid to Vietnam after typhoons

On October 30, a special flight from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations delivered humanitarian aid to Vietnamese residents affected by typhoons that hit the central part of the country. The operation was carried out on the instructions of the President and on behalf of the Government of the Russian Federation. This was announced by the Russian Foreign Ministry on its official website.

"30 tons of cargo have been transferred to the Vietnamese side, including tents, food, rescue boats and bedding," the publication says.

The official handover ceremony was attended by Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Gennady Bezdetko.

The gratuitous humanitarian action, implemented as soon as possible, was a confirmation of the special nature of relations between Moscow and Hanoi. The Vietnamese media noted Russia's initiative in a positive way, emphasizing that it had provoked a wide public response.

Shopping malls, casinos and universities were closed in several megacities, but the disaster did not affect the interest of tourists in the region.

On October 2, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences over the aftermath of the typhoon in Vietnam. The Head of State noted that Russia shares the grief of the Vietnamese people who lost their loved ones as a result of the natural disaster.
