The BBC reported on the suspension of a British canoer for an intimate video
British canoeist Kurts Adams Rosenthals has been suspended from competitions for two years for publishing an intimate video. This was announced on November 1 by the BBC television channel.
The disciplinary commission of the British Rowing Federation (Paddle UK) considered this a "serious disgrace to the sport" and a violation of the rules on "indecent and offensive behavior."
It is noted that Rosenthals is also excluded from the World Class Program, which trains athletes for the 2028 and 2032 Olympics. The 23-year-old athlete himself considers the punishment "extremely harsh" and does not regret the act.
"The video can be called crazy, but it was not illegal and should not have been a reason for a ban," he told BBC Sport.
According to the athlete, publications on social networks brought him more than 100,000 pounds in five months — many times more than official funding. Paddle UK stressed that it operates "within the framework of a policy of disciplinary responsibility, where necessary and proportionate."
Earlier, on August 20, it was reported that the 2024 Olympic boxing champion from Algeria, Iman Khelif, ended her professional career after a gender scandal. It is noted that Khelif failed to pass the gender test at the International Boxing Association (IBA) World Championships in India in 2023.
