The United States and Saudi Arabia are negotiating a mutual defense pact similar to the recent agreement with Qatar. This was reported on November 1 by The New York Times (NYT).

"There is a mutual defense pact that Saudi Arabia and the United States are expected to sign," the article says.

According to the newspaper, Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman is planning his first visit to Washington in seven years in mid-November, where the parties will discuss security issues.

Earlier, on November 1, the NYT reported that Mohammed bin Salman plans to buy F-35 fighter jets from the United States during his trip in November. It was also clarified that the deal includes providing Saudi Arabia with access to American technology to develop its nuclear program.
