Residents of the capital appreciated the "Gardens and Flowers" project sites
The three most popular central locations of the Gardens and Flowers landscape festival among Muscovites are Manezhnaya, Tverskaya and Teatralnaya Squares. This is evidenced by the results of voting in the Active Citizen project, said Natalia Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of the capital.
"183 thousand people took part in the voting. They identified their favorites in different categories. Muscovites named Nikolskaya, Kuznetsky Bridge and Kamergersky Lane as the most picturesque of the pedestrian streets," Sergunina said.
30 thousand scarlet carnations decorated Nikolskaya Street for Victory Day. An alley of lime trees was planted on Kuznetsky Most Street and an arched gallery was created with ampel plants — crops with hanging, creeping or creeping stems. A relaxation space with a lemon garden and olive trees has been set up in Kamergersky Lane.
Among the bridges and embankments, the Bolshoy Moskvoretsky Bridge became the leader of the vote, which was decorated with crimson, purple, white and yellow petunias.
Of the locations near the Garden Ring, residents of the capital highly appreciated the garden at the Krasnopresnenskaya metro station. There, guests were greeted by maples, hydrangeas, shrub roses, astilba, photinia and ochitki.
Another favorite is the playground on Tsvetnoy Boulevard, decorated in the style of a circus. There, visitors were invited to walk along a hundred-meter-long "Barefoot Trail" made of pebbles, sand and wood.
The Gardens and Flowers Festival was held from April 28 to September 14 as part of the main event of the warm season, Summer in Moscow. More than 600,000 plants were used to decorate the city. The designers created exhibition gardens, multi-level ensembles, and art objects with cypresses, lavender, and roses. Rare species such as Indian Lagerstremia and Lebanese cedar were also added to the composition.
