A criminal case has been opened in Dagestan after children from the village of Dilym, Kazbekov district, were admitted to the hospital with signs of poisoning. This was reported on November 1 in the press service of the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the republic.

"The Khasavyurt interdistrict investigative department <...> has opened a criminal case on the provision of services that do not meet the requirements of consumer health safety, under Part 1 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation," the agency's website says.

Investigators are establishing the circumstances of the incident and the persons involved in the crime. According to the local administration, doctors assess the condition of all patients as satisfactory.

The press service of the regional Ministry of Health reported earlier on November 1 that 10 children in Dagestan had been diagnosed with signs of acute intestinal infection. Six people were hospitalized, and four more are being treated on an outpatient basis. There are no severe cases of infection. The causes of infection are being investigated. The Dagestan Prosecutor's Office has organized an investigation into the incident.
