The State Traffic Inspectorate announced mass inspections of drivers in the regions
During the November holidays and the first days off of the month, the State Traffic Inspectorate will conduct massive and continuous checks of drivers, special attention will be paid to the search for drunk motorists. The upcoming raids were announced by the regional departments of the department.
Traffic police will carry out preventive measures on the roads of the Murmansk, Ivanovo, Tver, Jewish Autonomous, Ulyanovsk, Kirov, Ryazan, Novgorod regions and other regions of the country.
In addition, the Moscow State Traffic Inspectorate announced that drivers would be tested for intoxication on November 2-4.
"Driving while intoxicated is unacceptable: This endangers the life and health of both the drunk driver and his passengers, as well as other road users. We strongly ask citizens who have witnessed a drunk driving a car or motorcycle, behaving inappropriately, creating dangerous situations on the road, to report this to the police," said Police Colonel Anton Belan, Deputy head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of Child traffic Injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
The traffic police recalled that driving under the influence of alcohol, as well as refusing a medical examination, entail disqualification for a period of one and a half to two years and a heavy fine. In addition, in some cases, the driver is already facing criminal liability.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that following the results of the first nine months of 2025, a decrease in road traffic accidents was recorded in Russia. The number of road accidents decreased by 2.4% (94.9 thousand cases), the number of dead — by 3.4% (10.1 thousand people), injured — by 3% (117.7 thousand people).
