On Saturday, November 1, experts from the Roskachestvo Center for Digital Expertise named several relevant ways to counter telephone fraud. Analysts recommended taking a physical break and putting down the phone, as even a few seconds are enough to survive the first emotional wave.

"Ask yourself security questions. For example, "Why is this man pushing me? What will he get if I hurry up?" There should be as many such questions as possible, and the SMS code should be a stop factor for the final recheck," the department said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .

Roskachestvo experts also recommended switching the communication channel: if they are calling from a "bank", you should hang up and call back to the official number from the website, if "relatives" — call them back directly to a familiar number. Another way to distinguish an acquaintance from a scammer is to use code phrases that will be known only to a narrow circle.

The specialist warned that every published detail helps attackers create plausible scenarios for targeted attacks.

"Carry out digital hygiene: restrict access to personal information in the privacy settings, do not share confidential data in the public domain," the experts suggested.

In addition, Roskachestvo called for activating two-factor authentication wherever possible and regularly checking which applications and services have access to accounts.

Earlier that day, the press service of the United Credit Bureau (OKB) reported that in October 2025, Russian citizens submitted 1.29 million applications for self-locking loans, which is a record figure for the last period.

Earlier, on October 31, Andrey Rybnikov, a senior lecturer at the Department of Instrumental and Applied Software at the Institute of Information Technology of the Russian Academy of Technical Sciences, MIREA, told the Moscow City News agency that replacing mobile phones with landlines could not protect against fraudsters, since regardless of the type of device, attackers often use psychological methods of influence.

On October 30, the State Department of Regional Security of the Moscow Region warned about a new fraudulent scheme aimed at stealing personal data and hacking accounts on the portal of public services. 360.ru . The attackers are acting according to a proven scenario, offering to receive a bouquet allegedly from a fan.
