New domestic trucks have been certified in Russia.
Romanov JSC has issued vehicle type approval and chassis type approval for the entire line of vehicles of the domestic BAZ brand, which opens up opportunities for serial production and mass sales. The company's press service announced this on November 1 in its Telegram channel.
The factory for the production of BASE trucks is located in Shushary (Saint Petersburg). The company said that the enterprise is already ready for operation, and the area of 20.9 thousand square meters allows for a full cycle — from development to testing and production. It is stated that the localization level exceeds 90%. In 2026, it is planned to produce 600 units of equipment, and within three years to increase the volume to 2 thousand annually.
Three modifications are planned to be produced in St. Petersburg under the BAZ brand - a dump truck, a tractor truck and an on—board platform. The vehicle has a 6×6 wheel formula and an independent suspension. The layout of the machines is bonnetless, the components are domestic.
"Our trucks are designed to replace European counterparts that have left the market. They can handle both off—road and ordinary roads," Romanov JSC said.
Earlier, on October 28, it was reported that sales of light commercial vehicles (LCVs) of the Normax brand will begin in Russia in the near future. The company's first model, the One van, was presented at the CarXL conference in Moscow.
