- Rock band "Alice" celebrated the 20th anniversary of the album "Rogue" in St. Petersburg
The legend of Russian rock, the band "Alice", loudly celebrates the 20th anniversary of the album "Rogue". The band's 13th album is rightfully considered one of the heaviest in their discography and in all Russian rock music. On the eve of the show, the tour ended in the band's native St. Petersburg.
The first step onto the stage, the first chord of the song "My War" — as if it hadn't been 20 years.
The branches of trees are buried in the gray swamp fog. The recognizable scratched font of the stylish Rogue cover. Fans often hear some songs at concerts. Others, the musicians admit, even they had to remember.
"If you performed something, you sat a little bit, you could shoot from scratch. But it's always interesting for me anyway," said Alexander Pyankov, the guitarist of Alice.
It's like traveling through time to the delight of the fans. The "Star named rock" points the way again, the "Word" sounds, turning into a chorus, and the "Jerusalem Sun" rises.
"20 years ago, it was in this arena that St. Petersburg first heard the songs from Alice's 13th album. There are dozens of cities behind us, dozens of songs written, but the lyrics remain relevant. And the most interesting thing is that there are a lot of children at the concert. And for many, this is the first concert in their lives," said Maxim Oblender, a correspondent for Izvestia.
The father brought his daughter, and she met her teacher from art school. They all wear the same favorite colors – black and red.
"My daughter is at a concert for the first time, so we immediately changed her clothes. I like this kind of music, it just rocks," shared Alexander and Vera Ivanov.
"You can sort out every line there. Every year I understand his work in different ways. Well, yes, he's growing up, we're growing up with him," said Georgy and Irina Osadchy.
Cities flash by outside the bus windows. These are rare shots taken on a tour in support of Rogue One in 2005. And this is Andrey Vdovichenko — this is his first tour and album behind the drums of "Alice".
"We took up this task with fresh energy. All the material was not only rehearsed, it was worked out at concerts, it was recorded very quickly," said Andrei Vdovichenko, Alice's drummer.
But even today it sounds high-quality, heavy and modern.
"Such new technologies have already been used, with computer editions, so to speak. Both processing, noises and slicing samples were used," said Dmitry Parfenov, keyboardist of the rock band.
The "Beasts" written by Kinchev, shocked by the terrorist attack in Beslan, are clanking, grinding their metal teeth.
"I definitely like the idea itself. Everyone will become an outcast sooner or later," said Peter Samoilov, Alice's bass guitarist.
"I really like the way we're playing it now, the way it sounds right now. We are a concert band and we sound very cool, strong and powerful live," said Pavel Zelitsky, the band's guitarist.
They are not supposed to be "outcasts" with such popularity. Every concert is packed. Behind Bryansk, Kaluga, Tula, and now his native St. Petersburg.
"This worldview is in exactly the same state now, something that I timidly declared 20 years ago. That's why it feels very natural for me to sing these songs now, and I'm happy to do it. We put a lot into this album, it's such a landmark for me," said Konstantin Kinchev, the leader of the rock band Alice.
And this sign is an exclamation mark. The capital will hear the program that combines all the songs of the album "Rogue" and the main hits of "Alice" on November 7.
