Schoolchildren from Russia won three gold medals at the Kanysh Satpayev International Chemistry Olympiad, which was held in the city of Zhezkazgan in Kazakhstan. This was announced on November 1 on the website of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.

"At the International Chemistry Olympiad in Kazakhstan, all three members of the Russian national team received gold medals. This is a truly outstanding result and a reason to be proud!" said Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.

The winners of the Olympiad were Peter Voronchenok (GBOU "School on Vernadsky Avenue", Moscow), Mikhail Panin (GBOU "School No. 1535", Moscow) and Igor Ustinov (GBOU "School No. 1329", Moscow). The national team was led by Vasily Krasnobrov, a methodologist at the Center for Pedagogical Excellence.

25 teams from Kazakhstan, Russia and Kyrgyzstan took part in the competition, with a total of 82 schoolchildren.

"Thanks to such achievements, peers are increasingly interested in studying natural science subjects. I am sure that this result is just the beginning of a long journey for the children in science," Sergey Kravtsov, Minister of Education of the Russian Federation, congratulated the students.

Earlier, on September 20, Russian schoolchildren won the team competition at the International Olympiad on Climate Change and Environmental Issues (IOCE), held at Sirius. In the individual competition, Russian schoolchildren received two gold, one silver and two bronze medals.
