In the Russian Federation, it was allowed to check into hotels with a driver's license or passport

Russians were allowed to use their passport and driver's license to check into hotels. This was announced on November 1 by the press service of the Government of the Russian Federation.

"When checking into a hotel, it will now be possible to use a foreign passport along with a passport to verify a citizen's identity, and from January 1, 2026, a driver's license," the government's website says.
