- A case has been opened against economist Inozemtsev for non-fulfillment of duties of a foreign agent.
A criminal case on evading the duties of a foreign agent has been initiated against economist Vladislav Inozemtsev (recognized in the Russian Federation as a foreign agent). This was reported on November 1 in the press service of the Prosecutor's office of the Moscow region.
"Based on the materials of the inspection by the Moscow Region Prosecutor's office, a criminal case has been opened against Vladislav Inozemtsev, a foreign agent," the department wrote on its Telegram channel.
It is clarified that Inozemtsev distributed his materials on one of the messengers and video hosting sites without indicating that they were created and distributed by a foreign agent. In this regard, the prosecutor's office opened a criminal case. The regional prosecutor's office took control of the investigation.
Earlier, on September 25, the State Duma adopted in the second and third readings a bill to strengthen liability for foreign agents for non-compliance with the procedure for their activities. Based on the text of the document, the law cancels the condition according to which a foreign agent had to commit two administrative offenses under Article 19.34 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (CAO) of the Russian Federation within one year to incur criminal liability.
On September 1, a law came into force in Russia prohibiting foreign agents from conducting educational and awareness-raising activities regardless of the age of the trainees.
