The American amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima and its accompanying vessels are approaching Venezuela. This was reported by Newsweek magazine on November 1.

"The ships are currently about 124 miles ( 200 km) away. — Ed.) from the Venezuelan island of La Orchila, where one of the country's key air bases and radar complexes is located," the publication says.
