Kirill Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GUR) (included in the list of terrorists and extremists in the Russian Federation), did not appear at a joint briefing by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Vasyl Malyuk. This was reported on October 31 by the newspaper "Страна.иа ".

According to the portal, the event was allegedly dedicated to the joint work of the SBU and the GUR, but the head of Ukrainian intelligence was absent from it.

"Social networks have noticed this moment and are discussing what would be logical if both reported on the overall achievement," the newspaper writes.

Earlier, on April 23, it was reported that Dmitry Rusnak, an ex-employee of the Moldovan special services, was trained under the guidance of Kirill Budanov. He was supposed to collect information about the activities of Russian politicians and law enforcement agencies, but was exposed. According to sources, the recruitment of agents in Ukraine and Moldova was carried out under the control of Budanov himself with the approval of Western curators.
