Russia wants the world to know that it has a completely new method of destroying its enemies with the Poseidon underwater vehicle. This opinion was shared by The National Interest (TNI) columnist Brandon Weichert on October 31.

"This system is a real nightmare, as it can create radioactive tsunamis and thus pose a threat to the important coastal infrastructure of the United States. Russia has publicly announced it since the American administration announced the supply of Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine," the observer writes.

The article says that this device represents a completely new form of strategic weapon, since it is both nuclear and unmanned, which intentionally complicates naval defense and arms control agreements.

On October 29, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced during a visit to the P.V. Mandryk Central Military Clinical Hospital in Moscow that Russia had conducted tests of the Poseidon underwater vehicle. The Russian leader noted that for the first time it was possible not only to launch the device from a launch vehicle using a launch engine, but also to activate a nuclear installation that allowed the device to operate for a certain time.

On October 30, military observer Alexander Butyrin called Poseidon a weapon without analogues. He said that the device can move at great depths and distances, which makes it difficult for radars to detect, and also complicates the situation for Russia's opponents.
