Two natural zones with radon were found in the mountains of Stavropol
Scientists have discovered two natural radon zones in the Beshtau and Byk mountains in the Stavropol Territory. This is reported by the press service of the North Caucasus Federal University.
The two-year study was aimed at studying the mechanisms of radon propagation using the example of the unique resort region of the Caucasian Mineral Waters. The specialists carried out 50 visits and took more than 700 measurements. The data obtained has been thoroughly analyzed.
"One of the important practical results of the study was the identification of the possibility of creating Russia's first natural radon emanatory (special room for inhalation — Ed.) in the territories of the Beshtau and Bull mountains," explained Pavel Sidyakin, Professor of the Department of Construction.
According to him, the opening has significant potential for the development of the resort area and attracting an additional stream of tourists who need medical rehabilitation.
Radon is useful in the treatment of diseases of the musculoskeletal system, nervous system, skin, gynecological and cardiovascular. This gas has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and soothing effects, writes StavropolMedia news agency.
Earlier it was reported that a new modern wellness center was opened in Stavropol on the basis of the Mashuk Aqua-Term sanatorium. It includes a swimming pool, a fitness club, a gym, a geothermal complex and a spa.
