In 2026, electricity tariffs will be changed on October 1. This was reported to Izvestia on October 31 by the press service of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS).

"This will make it possible to make all regulated tariff decisions in a timely manner," the ministry explained.

They also recalled that the decree adopted by the Government of the Russian Federation was developed by the FAS of Russia. The document provides for the postponement of the period for the indexation of electricity tariffs for the population and equivalent consumers and tariffs for electricity transmission services to the public and commercial consumers from July 1 to October 1, 2026.

This corresponds to the indexation schedule, which provides for a forecast of the socio-economic development of the Russian Federation for 2026 and for the planned period of 2027 and 2028.

The adopted decision will make it possible to take into account in the tariff campaign for 2026 the conditions for concluding regulatory agreements in the regions where they were adopted, as well as the specifics of applying Methodological Guidelines for calculating tariffs.

The Agency will ensure that electricity tariffs for the population do not exceed the maximum levels. If necessary, the service will take measures to prevent unjustified wage increases for citizens, including the cancellation of regional decisions.

Alexander Aksenenko, deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Communal Services, announced on October 10 that from March 1, 2026, the date before which utilities must be paid will change in Russia.
