- Volunteers are ready for the start of the sports forum "Russia – a sporting power"
The formation of the volunteer corps of the XIII International Sports Forum "Russia – a Sporting Power", which will be held from November 5-7, 2025 in Samara and Tolyatti, has been fully completed in the Samara region. The Forum is being held in accordance with the order of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. The event is operated by the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Samara Region.
All the volunteers have been selected and are completing their training. On November 5, they will begin performing their functions at the sites of Samara and Tolyatti in full.
1,000 of the most motivated and experienced volunteers were selected from almost 4,000 applications. All of them have passed a number of interviews and trainings: orientation, "Hospitality and Tourism", as well as functional ones.
"For four months, extensive training has been underway to form a volunteer corps. Thanks to the well-coordinated work of the Center for Attracting Volunteers, volunteer centers of educational organizations, enterprises, and the forum directorate, we managed to form a motivated and professional volunteer team. All the volunteers are looking forward to the start of the forum to help the organizers hold the largest event at the highest level and show the hospitality of the Samara Region and Russia," said Vladimir Usov, Minister of Youth Policy of the Samara Region.
The training took place at the Volunteer Recruitment and Training Center, which opened in September on the basis of the Multifunctional Youth Center of the Samara region. The Center's team, together with universities, colleges, public organizations and enterprises, has built a system that allows future volunteers to immerse themselves in the specifics of their fields.
The latest functional trainings are currently taking place at the forum's facilities: there, volunteers get acquainted with the infrastructure, study routes, safety rules, and how to interact with the forum's services.
"I've been volunteering for six years now. I went to the forum consciously — there is a special atmosphere here. We studied the structure of the venues, the routes, and the order of interaction with the judges. I want all the guests to feel how open and friendly the Samara Region is," said Maria Sokolova, a student at Samara University, who moved from St. Petersburg to Samara and became the team leader at the MTL Arena.
"The guys are already well-versed in the Arena, they know where the locker rooms, media areas, and medical facilities are located. Everyone is responsible for their own area, but the team acts as a single organism. It depends on how smoothly the forum will be held," said Marina Nenasheva, coordinator of the site.
The volunteers have already received branded equipment, which was designed specifically for the forum, and have partially resumed their functional duties, and starting on November 5, the volunteer corps will fully deploy to their facilities to help organize one of the largest sports and business events in the country.
