Sobyanin opened a new sign language center in Moscow
A unique sign language center named after L.I. Sverzhevsky has opened in the capital. This was announced on his channel in the IACH by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, who took part in the opening ceremony.
The new seven-storey building on Zagorodnoye Highway brought together previously disparate adult and children's centers, which were located on the ground floors of residential buildings. The area of the institution has been increased three times and amounts to 4.6 thousand square meters. m.
"The capacity has doubled to 500 visits per day. Have we created a barrier-free environment, expanded waiting areas, and equipped classrooms with high-tech equipment? — emphasized the metropolitan mayor.
More than 600 units of modern medical equipment have been delivered to the center, including soundproof diagnostic cabins and a free sound field system. Patients will have access to a full cycle of hearing replacement, from initial examination to adjustment and correction of hearing aids.
For the first time in Moscow, a day hospital with a sign language profile has been created: it is designed for two children and nine adult beds. This will expand the volume of specialized care and reduce the need for hospitalization in round-the-clock departments. In addition, for the first time, the facility has installed an X-ray computed tomography system for examining the temporal bones for the city's sign language service.
The possibility of replacing the speech processors of cochlear implants has been organized for children, which previously required contacting federal clinics.
The number of classrooms has almost doubled to 50. According to forecasts, starting next year, the center will be able to receive up to 94 thousand adult patients and 8.8 thousand children.
