The number of people poisoned in the dining room of the Zvezdny College has increased to 20, including two employees of the Aurum food store. This was announced on October 31 in the press service of the interregional department of Rospotrebnadzor in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region.

It is reported that eight out of 20 people were hospitalized with an acute intestinal infection. Three people, including two employees of the food store, were found to have norovirus.

"In order to prevent the spread of an infectious disease, a protocol has been drawn up on the temporary prohibition of the organization's activities in the college cafeteria. The premises and equipment are sealed," the regional department said in a statement on the VKontakte social network.

In addition, the department expressed its readiness to speak in court in defense of the victims, as well as to assist in drafting a pre-trial claim against the Aurum company.

The poisoning of students at the Zvezdny College became known on October 30. College education has been temporarily switched to a distance learning format. An investigation has begun into the incident. Measures are currently being taken to establish all the circumstances, causes and conditions of the incident.
