Every 10th car sold in Russia turned out to be more expensive than 5 million rubles.
According to the results of the first nine months of 2025, the share of new car sales in the Russian car market, which cost from 5 million rubles, amounted to 9%. Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency, told about this in his Telegram channel.
According to him, this indicator has not changed compared to the same period last year. In absolute terms, this is almost 81 thousand cars sold, while in monetary terms the segment occupied more than a quarter of the market (26%). Cars in the price range of 4-5 million rubles accounted for 10% of all sales in January–September (-1 percentage point year-on-year), and almost every fifth car bought by Russians cost 3-4 million rubles (a share of 21%; +3 percentage points).
The segment of 2-3 million rubles became the most massive with a share of 30% (-2 percentage points). Cars worth 1.5–2 million rubles accounted for 16% of sales (+5 percentage points). 15% of buyers spent up to 1.5 million rubles on a new car (-4 percentage points).
According to the analyst, the weighted average cost of a new passenger car in Russia for nine months was 3.2 million rubles. This is 2.5% more than last year (3.12%).
Earlier in the day, it was reported that new cars in Russia have almost doubled in price over the past five years. So, if at the beginning of 2021 the weighted average price of a passenger car was 1.8 million rubles, then by September 2025 it had increased to 3.34 million rubles.
