Pskov region to introduce the Standard of public capital
The Pskov region has become the 17th region of Russia with which the NGO "Public Capital" has concluded an agreement on the introduction of the Standard of Public Capital. The purpose of the partnership is to develop the social responsibility of companies and involve them in the implementation of the country's national goals, the press service of the non-profit organization reported.
"We are already cooperating with the Pskov branches of such public organizations as Delovaya Rossiya, the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Union of Machine Builders and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Last week, we held a seminar for representatives of large regional companies, where we talked about the importance of the Standard for the state, society and business," said Asiyat Bagatyrova, CEO of NGO "Public Capital".
According to her, it is important that businesses receive prompt answers to all questions that arise. "This work, carried out jointly with business associations and the government of the Pskov region, will be carried out on a regular basis," Bagatyrova stressed.
Participation in the assessment according to the Public Capital Standard is designed to encourage companies to improve working conditions, hire specialists who educate preschoolers, participate in social and environmental projects, and contribute to the formation of a favorable living environment in the regions of their presence.
Mikhail Vedernikov, Governor of the Pskov Region, added that the region consistently creates conditions for responsible business that contributes to the sustainable growth of the country's economy. "I am confident that the implementation of the Standard will contribute to the development of the business environment and will allow combining the efforts of regional authorities and entrepreneurs in the implementation of national projects and in achieving the development goals set by our president," Vedernikov said.
The Public capital standard includes 95 indicators that make it possible to assess the company's contribution to achieving national goals. Large companies are evaluated according to 45 criteria, while small and medium—sized enterprises are evaluated according to 23 criteria. Organizations that meet the Standard will be able to apply for federal and regional support measures as a matter of priority.
