Israel announced the killing of a Hezbollah officer in Lebanon
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) eliminated the Lebanese Hezbollah movement Ibrahim Muhammad Raslan in southern Lebanon. This was reported by The Jerusalem Post on October 31.
"According to the IDF, the officer was engaged in the restoration of Hezbollah infrastructure in this area of Lebanon. The terrorist's actions posed a threat to the State of Israel and its civilian population, as well as a violation of the agreements between Israel and Lebanon," the article says.
The Israeli Security Cabinet and the heads of the security forces on Thursday evening discussed with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu the strengthening of Hezbollah in Lebanon.
"This is an important discussion in light of Hezbollah's actions in the region," one Israeli official said.
For several days now, Israel has been actively shelling southern and eastern Lebanon. More than a dozen people were killed, most of them members of Hezbollah.
Earlier, on October 20, the IDF announced attacks on the military infrastructure of the Hezbollah movement in Lebanon. According to the military, Hezbollah continues to attempt to rebuild terrorist infrastructure facilities throughout Lebanon. It clarifies that such attempts are a violation of agreements between Israel and Lebanon and the IDF will continue strikes in order to prevent the expansion of the group's activities.
