Bloomberg pointed to US GDP growth due to the popularity of AI
Increased investment in artificial intelligence (AI) technologies was the main boost to U.S. economic growth in 2025, providing, according to analysts, more than 50% of GDP growth in the first half of the year. This was reported on October 31 by Bloomberg.
"Meta (recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation. — Ed.), Microsoft and Alphabet invested a total of $78 billion in the last quarter, which is almost twice as much as a year earlier," the material says.
It is noted that these investments stimulated the construction of data centers throughout the country and increased the demand for computer equipment and software, which provided a record contribution to the growth of capital investments.
According to JPMorgan Chase, the increase in capitalization of AI companies supported domestic demand. Economists emphasize that the effect of the introduction of AI goes beyond the stock market.
Earlier, on October 28, Microsoft entered into a long—term agreement with the developer of the ChatGPT neural network, OpenAI. It was specified that Microsoft would receive a 27% stake in OpenAI Group PBC. This package is estimated at about $135 billion.
