Two wastewater treatment plants to be launched in Crimea

By the end of 2025, the Almond and Utes sewage treatment plants, located near Sudak and Alushta, will be launched in Crimea. The final works are currently underway at the facilities, said the head of the Republican Council of Ministers, Yuri Gotsanyuk.

According to him, the station in the village of Mindalnoye is 100% ready. Commissioning has already been completed at the facility, and documentation is currently being prepared for its commissioning.

The plant is equipped with mechanical and deep biological purification systems, ultraviolet disinfection and is capable of purifying up to 15 thousand cubic meters of wastewater per day. Next, the water will flow into Lake Bugaz through a collector with a length of 5 km.

The construction readiness of the Utes sewage treatment plants in the village of Maly Mayak is 95%. According to IA SevastopolMedia, exterior work is currently being carried out at the station: facade finishing and landscaping of the adjacent territory.

After the modernization, the facility's capacity will increase from 3 to 5 thousand cubic meters. m per day. Mechanical and biological treatment technologies with UV treatment will also be used at these treatment plants. Wastewater will be sent to the sea through a 2.4 km long deep-sea outlet.

Earlier, Izvestia wrote that Russian scientists have created a photocatalyst for water purification, which is activated by ordinary light from LED lamps. The invention can be used for the construction of new type of purification reactors or integrated into existing systems.
