Hongqi has no plans to launch car production in Russia yet. Ivan Saveliev, Executive Director of Hongqi Russia, told Izvestia about this on October 31.

"Hongqi has no production plans. But without a localization solution, any car brand becomes uncompetitive against the background of further growth in recycling. Therefore, it is important to have a decision on this issue. It's a matter of time," Saveliev said.

Hongqi's model range in Russia now includes the HS3, HS5 and HS7 crossovers, the H5 sedan and the H6 liftback, as well as the H9 flagship sedan, the HQ9 minivan and the E-HS9 large electric crossover.

Earlier, on October 16, it was reported that Russia began accepting orders for Hongqi H9 executive sedans in a new modification, which is characterized by a powerful engine and the presence of an all-wheel drive system. The restyled H9 is offered to Russians with a three-liter turbocharged V6 engine with a capacity of 326 hp (450 Nm), a classic eight-speed automatic and an all-wheel drive transmission. The price of the car is 9.99 million rubles.

Prior to that, on October 13, it became known that certification of the Hongqi L1 luxury sedan had begun in Russia, and sales were scheduled to begin before the end of 2025. In China, the model is known as Hongqi Guoya, where the sedan costs 1.4–1.86 million yuan (about 16-21 million rubles in translation).
